HYDRANAL®-E types - Non-toxic reagents for Karl Fischer Titration

HYDRANAL Karl Fischer Titration Reagents

At the center of the continuous developments is the replacement of toxic methanol which is widely used as solvent in the titration vessel or as solvent for Karl Fischer reagents by the non-toxic ethanol. HYDRANAL®-E types represent the first non-toxic Karl Fischer reagent line for the volumetric and the coulometric titration.

Advantages of non-toxic HYDRANAL®-E types

  • Compared with methanol based Karl Fischer reagents handling is less dangerous for employees.
  • Reagents meet requirements of ISO EN DIN 14001.
  • Improved solubility of long-chained hydrocarbons.
  • Ketones like acetone can be titrated in HYDRANAL®-CompoSolver E without side-reaction.
  • Compared with the traditional two-component reagents the non-toxic reagents have the same titration speed, identical shelf life and titre parameters.
  • The non-toxic HYDRANAL®-Coulomat E can be used as one-component-reagent for coulometric cells with diaphragm.
  • Comparative applications are available on request
