Fluka Product number 79421: REAGENT OF THE YEAR 1992
Prof. Dr. Schwesinger obtained in 1992 the Fluka Prize "Reagent of the Year" with his product 79421 (Phosphazene Base P4-t-Bu). R. Schwesinger, born 1947, studied at the University of Freiburg, Germany, where he obtained his PhD under direction of Prof. Dr. H. Prinzbach. In 1978 he joined the group of Prof. Dr. A. Eschenmoser at the ETH Z|rich as a postdoctoral fellow until 1980. He returned to Freiburg and became "Dozent" in 1990. From 1987 - 1998, the Fluka Prize "Reagent of the Year" has been awarded annually to a research project, in which a new compound has shown to be a reagent of prime importance, useful in organic chemistry, biochemistry or analytical chemistry.
