Stirring – Dispersing – Grinding
Economic price, small footprint and the use of disposable closed tubes make it possible for every scientist to use this system at their personal bench space or in confined spaces, without the need for tool clean-up and without risk of cross-contamination.
Workstation Set — Drive, Tubes and Storage Case
Tube Drive
Dispersing, Grinding and Stirring Tubes
Applications
Quick and Simple to Use
In this example, see how simple it is to homogenize a liver sample.
 |
Step 1
Place sample in tube.
Add 2 – 15 ml liquid.
Close screw cap. |
Step 2
Attach tube to tube drive.
Set desired speed and time.
Press START. |
Step 3
Remove tube from drive.
Remove cap, pipette or pour contents.
Dispose of tube. |
Consistent, Reproducible Sample Prep
With constant volume disposable tubes, drive speed control between 300 and 6,000 oscillations per minute and built-in timer, this system will provide consistent, reproducible stirring, dispersing or grinding for sample preparation in your laboratory.
Economical Solution, without Risk of Cross-contamination
Supplied in packs of 25, the single use, disposable tubes, complete with their built-in stirring, dispersing or grinding tools, cost just a few dollars each and are discarded for disposal after use. Compare this low cost to the time, effort and cost of cleaning overhead disperser and stirrer tools, grinding chambers or vessels.
Consider also that disposable tubes eliminate the risk of carry-over and cross-contamination between samples that might occur using traditional overhead disperser and stirrer tools, grinding chambers and vessels.
The comparatively low cost of the drive, and the disposable tubes, will quickly be repaid by the savings in time, effort and cost of clean up, with additional assurance of sample quality.
Workstation Set
Workstation set consists of tube drive, power supply, 2 stirring tubes, 2 dispersing tubes and 2 grinding tubes and operating instructions in a compact storage case, ideal for keeping the system neat and tidy when not in use.

Tube Drive
- Small bench footprint 100 mm wide x 160 mm long
- Continuously variable speed control 30–6,000 rpm
- Timer with digital display:
1–59 sec, 300–6,000 rpm
1–29 min, 300–4,000 rpm
- Anti-locking function with alarm
If sample becomes jammed between cutters, drive will automatically attempt to free the cutters by changing direction of rotation of the device 3 times. If this does not free the jam, unit will switch off, display error message and give audible alarm, alerting operator of need to check tube contents and restart process.
- Supplied with low voltage remote power supply (24V)
Allows drive to be used in containment hood, with power supply outside hood, removing potential electrical hazard and heat source from workarea.

Screw Cap Dispersing, Grinding and Stirring Tubes
These hermetically sealed tubes prevent the spreading of aerosols or vapours created by mechanical stirring, dispersion or grinding infectious, toxic or odourous substances in open vessels.
Disposable and single-use tubes, they avoid the possibility of cross-contamination of samples and remove the need for clean up of disperser tools, stirrer tools, grinding chambers or vessels.
Each tube has a bayonet fitting on the bottom, for easy, secure connection to the tube drive.

Warning
These tubes are hermetically sealed with a screw cap.
Stirring, dispersing or grinding may generate heat or cause other changes in the sample that might lead to build up of pressure inside the tube.
Evaluate risk from tube contents leaking, consider use of protective equipment and/or containment measures when operating unit and opening tubes.
