The TargeTron Gene Knockout System (TA0100) allows for the creation of prokaryotic knockouts in as little as three days. TargeTron vectors are now available to increase the capabilities and to enhance the flexibility of the system. The TargeTron Gene Knockout System, in conjunction with the new vectors, can be used to generate multiple knockouts, to create knockouts with removable selection or without using selection, to develop knockouts in organisms lacking a source of T7 RNA polymerase and to generate knockouts in additional organisms such as Staphylococcus aureus.
