Save your valuable time for research with pre-poured agar plates from Sigma-Aldrich!
In addition to pre-blended powders and components, we offer pre-poured agar plates for the culture and selection of bacterial cultures. Currently we offer traditional LB plates for cultivation of any Escherichia coli strain and LB/amp plates for selection of ampicillin resistant strains and cells harboring selection plasmids containing the ampicillin resistance gene. In addition, we also offer LB plates with both carbenicillin and kanamycin.
All of our plates are tested with at least 4 different recombinant strains of E. coli to demonstrate the efficacy of the antibiotic contained within. The plates are provided in sleeves of 10 and are shipped at ambient temperature. However, upon receipt plates should be kept refrigerated until use.
