For stable and transient transfections in a wide variety of cell lines
The ESCORT series of reagents were designed to meet the specific requirements needed for effective transfections in a broad spectrum of cell lines. Each one was formulated to optimize transfection efficiency based on the cell host and experimental parameters. These parameters include: stable vs. transient, serum vs. no serum, and mammalian vs. insect. All of the ESCORTs offer low toxicity levels and the flexibility to move from one common cell type to another.

High Efficiency Transfection of Insect Cells with ESCORT™ Reagents

Transfection of Sf9 insect cells with ESCORT and ESCORT IV Sf9 cells were seeded at a density of 3 x 106 in 60 mm dishes. After one hour, the attached cells were transfected in serum-free medium with 3 µg of plasmid DNA containing a constitutively expressed LacZ gene. The DNA:lipid ratio was 1:4 (w/v). Following a five-hour incubation, the medium was replaced with serum containing medium. The cells were stained at 40 hours post-transfection for the presence of β-galactosidase.
