Shipping Information

All Canadian orders are shipped FOB Oakville, Ontario. Transportation charges will vary with the destination and weight of your order. Typically the charges are between $10 and $20.

US DEA controlled substances and some Radiochemicals listed in the catalogue are shipped directly from the United States by courier, FOB Sigma St. Louis. The shipping cost will be added to your invoice.

Backordered items are shipped and invoiced separately as they become available.

Effective September 14, 2006, a hazardous fee will be implemented nationally. The hazardous fee will be $5.00 per order (excluding taxes). Freight charges and ice charges will not increase.

Why is a hazardous fee being implemented?

Sigma-Aldrich has not charged hazardous fees in the past and has absorbed these costs for many years. Implementation of a hazardous fee more accurately reflects the cost of shipping and handling fees of hazardous products considering the prevailing environment of escalating fuel prices.

Will I be charged extra hazardous fees for any back ordered materials?

No, you will only incur a one-time hazardous fee for your order regardless of the number of deliveries.

If you require further information regarding our hazardous fees, please contact our Customer Service department at 1-800-565-1400 or email canada@sial.com. Real-time price and availability for products is also available at sigma-aldrich.com.
