SAFC President Frank Wicks wins Global Service Leadership Award |

St. Louis, MO - October 25, 2007 - SAFC®, a member of the Sigma-Aldrich™ Group (NASDAQ: SIAL) is pleased to announce that its president, Dr. Frank Wicks, has received the Global Leadership Service Award from the Boeing Institute of International Business, John Cook School of Business, Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri.
The annual award is bestowed to honorees who have devoted time, effort and resources to support the improvement of academic and professional programs in International Business at the University. Dr. Wicks is an active member of the Institute Advisory Board and has served on the Academic Program Committee in St. Louis for the past 5 years.
In presenting the award, Dr. Seung H. Kim, Director, Boeing Institute of International Business, commented, "Dr. Wicks is a deserving recipient of this award. In addition to securing key speakers and sponsorship for the International Business Program, he has been an active participant in our undergraduate program as a guest lecturer, student mentor and roundtable discussion leader, as well as in helping to provide scholarship funding."
Dr. Wicks joined Sigma-Aldrich in 1982, holding a series of technical and supervisory positions through 1993. He was named president of Sigma Chemical Company in 1994 and vice president for Sigma-Aldrich Operations in 1998. Prior to his current position, Frank was president of the Sigma-Aldrich Scientific Research Division from 1999 - 2003.
Frank holds a B.S. in Microbiology and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Oklahoma State University in Oklahoma and has attended Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program.
