SAFC Supply Solutions Introduces New High-Quality Starting Materials for Oligo-Based Drugs

May 17, 2007

St. Louis, MO - SAFC Supply Solutions, a business segment of SAFC and member of the Sigma-Aldrich group, (NASDAQ: SIAL), announces an extension to its range of starting materials for oligo-based drugs and will highlight new high-purity RNA Pharmadite™ amidites at the TIDES® Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 20 - 23, 2007. This range of new material complements a cluster of new Proligo® Reagent introductions in the recent past.

High-quality amidites are the key contributors to final oligo purity, high synthesis effectiveness, compliance and cost optimization. SAFC's new RNA Pharmadite amidites, like the entire Pharmadite product line, are characterized through a highly-controlled impurity profile and possess exceptional overall purity and quality support - in compliance with EMEA requirements for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) starting materials. Their unprecedented purity specification of greater than or equal to 99% purity is achieved by a reverse phase HPLC process.

SAFC Supply Solutions is well known for its Proligo Reagents product line, comprising all key raw materials for the synthesis of oligonucleotides. The company focuses on high product quality and compliance to strengthen its position as a long-term material supplier to customers, partnering from early-stage drug development to late-phase commercial production.
