Ultrafiltration is a filtration process that uses a porous membrane to isolate and remove particles such as bacteria and viruses. The process is often used in the pharmaceutical industry and is also used in water purification.

In the pharmaceutical industry, ultrafiltration is extensively used to concentrate and further purify extracted material from aqueous solutions.
