The science of polymorph prediction is still at an early stage, and the experimental approach is still the dominant methodology in use today. Our extensive experience in the solid-form field has led us to the firm belief that a standard set of procedures or a fixed methodology are inadequate in understanding the complex and varied range of issues related to polymorphism and drug development.
The experimental approach using high-throughput screening can provide a useful source of data for polymorph investigation, but used alone it does not provide sufficient understanding of polymorphic systems to ensure real value is gained from the process.
At Pharmorphix, we have therefore developed an integrated approach which combines the scientific rigour of traditional techniques along with the additional benefits gained through using parallel arrays.
At the beginning of every project, Pharmorphix works closely with clients to determine their exact needs and devise our investigation methods accordingly.
We then use an iterative experimental approach which focuses on developing our understanding at an early stage in the experimental process, achieving improved results both in terms of data collected and the potential to analyse and use such data.
