Gas Sampling Bags
|
|
|
|
Gas sampling bags are recognized as cost-effective alternatives to Summa canisters for sampling volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and light and permanent gases. Recently, we have expanded our gas sampling bag line to include our Supel™-Inert film as a replacement for Tedlar®, and now offer Supel-Inert Foil bags for light and permanent gases. Tedlar is still available while supplies last. In addition to multiple film types, we also offer two different kinds of valves with our exclusive low-bleed Thermogreen™ LB-2 septa installed.
Product Release: Recently, DuPont had given notice to their customers stating that Tedlar PVF oriented film will no longer be supplied to the gas sampling bag market. This advanced notification has provided Sigma-Aldrich/Supelco with ample time to evaluate other films that meet or exceed Tedlar characteristics for air sampling applications. At this time, we are pleased to offer our customers our new Supel-Inert fluoropolymer film gas sampling bags with our exclusive Thermogreen LB-2 septa.

 Push-Lock Valve (PLV) |
 Screw Cap Valve (SCV) |
Key Features and Benefits:
- The Thermogreen polymer has the industry's lowest bleed, preventing sample contamination from the septum.
- Low VOC and sulfur background levels, no detectable background levels of DMAC (Dimethylacetamide) and phenol
- Inertness properties similar to Tedlar for a wide range of compounds
- Suitable for sampling and analysis for most VOC’s within 2 days and many sulfur* compounds for up to 24 hrs
- Chemically inert to most acids, aliphatic and aromatic organic compounds, chlorinated solvents and alcohols
- Abrasion resistant
- Two valve fitting options available – Push-Lock Valve (PLV) and Screw Cap Valve (SCV); Stainless Steel Valve coming soon
*Not suitable for storing hydrogen sulfide

Supel-Inert foil gas sampling bags with Thermogreen septa are ideal for sampling low molecular weight compounds such as carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), and permanent gases
Key Features and Benefits:
- The Thermogreen polymer has the industry's lowest bleed, preventing sample contamination from the septum.
- Multilayer foil composition composed of two outer layers of aluminum film providing great barrier to gases permeating through the walls of the bag
- Only foil bag material that can hold hydrogen sulfide for long periods, from 5 to 7 days
- Sample stability up to 5 days for most recommended compounds (direct to applications below)
- Chemically inert with moisture and light protection
- Not recommended for low ppm VOC’s due to background levels

Our bag samplers are designed so that the sampled gas flows directly to the bags inlet without first passing through a vacuum pump, which can contaminate your sample. The pump removes the air from the box creating a vacuum; and the negative pressure inside the box causes the air to enter the inlet and flow into the bag. The desired flow rate can be achieved by adjusting the flow control valve. Products not UL listed or EX rated.
