TSKgel® Gel Filtration Columns for Water-Soluble Polymers

TSKgel PWxl-, PW- and SuperMultiporePW-type columns are the columns of choice for the analyses of water-soluble polymers. All TSKgel polymer-based gel filtration columns are prepared from polymethacrylate resin. The smaller particle size TSKgel PWxl-type resins have a higher % crosslinking than PW-type columns to allow for operation at higher back pressure. TSKgel PWxl-, PW- and SuperMultiporePW-type columns can be used from pH 2 to 12 with water or buffer (up to 20% methanol/80% aqueous) as eluent. TSKgel PWxl-, PW- and SuperMultiporePW-type columns can be operated up to 80°C (50°C for TSKgel G-DNA-PW). The TSKgel G6000PW column is also available in PEEK hardware for ultra-low sample adsorption when analyzing viruses. The TSKgel SuperOligoPW column is more hydrophilic than the TSKgel G-Oligo-PW column. Use higher efficiency TSKgel PWxl-type columns for optimal resolution, to reduce analysis time, or in sample limited applications. Use TSKgel PW-type columns when analysis time is not critical, when sample mass is not limited, to collect fractions, or to obtain maximum number of plates (at the expense of analysis time). TSKgel SuperMultiporePW columns are packed with particles containing a wide range of pore sizes. Semi-micro SuperMultiporePW columns span a wide separation range from high MW polymers to oligomers.

TSKgel® PWXL Type Columns

TSKgel PWxl columns are composed of spherical, hydrophilic polymethacrylate beads. The main application area for TSKgel PWxl columns is the analysis of water-soluble polymers, such as celluloses, acrylamides, glycols, dextrans, polyvinylalcohol, and oligosaccharides. TSKgel PWxl columns provide improved resolution over TSKgel PW columns due to their smaller particle size.

TSKgel® PW Type Columns

TSKgel PW columns are composed of spherical, hydrophilic polymethacrylate beads. Particle sizes range from 12μm for the smaller pore size columns to 17μm for the larger pore size columns. The main application areas for TSKgel PW columns are the analysis of water-soluble polymers, such as celluloses, acrylamides, glycols, dextrans, polyvinylalcohol, and oligosaccharides.The mixed-mode column, TSKgel GMPW, has an extended linear calibration range, suitable for samples with a broad MW distribution, as well as unknown samples. TSKgel G2000PW, the larger particle size equivalent of TSKgel G-Oligo-PW, is most suitable for semipreparative and preparative isolation of oligosaccharides.

TSKgel® SuperMultiporePW Columns

The innovative multi-pore particle synthesis technology which Tosoh scientists pioneered, has been extended to TSKgel SuperMultiporePW columns for water-soluble polymer analysis. Three semi-micro columns varying in linear range are available within this series, enabling high speed and high resolution analysis with lowered solvent consumption. The base material of each TSKgel SuperMultiporePW column is polymethacrylate.A wide molecular mass range can be analyzed with the three different TSKgel SuperMultiporePW columns, from high molecular mass water-soluble polymers to oligomers. The packing material in the TSKgel SuperMultiporePW columns is more hydrophilic than that of TSKgel PWxl series columns, which further reduces the chance of adsorption of hydrophilic polymers.
