Wet (Conventional) Chemistry

Also known as bench chemistry, these methods encompass a wide variety of techniques, including filtration, weighing, drying, ion chromatography (IC), titration, distillation, UV/Vis, IR, fluorescence, and microscopy. Methodology typically follows US EPA and Standard Methods publications. Overall, this area may be more labor-intensive compared to the organic and metal areas. This is because automation cannot be applied to some of these techniques.
