Semivolatiles by GC-MS

This focus area permits the quantitation of a wide range of basic, neutral, and acidic analytes with identification using mass spectral verification. Analyte types include benzidines, chlorobenzenes, haloethers, nitrosamines, nitrotoluenes, polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), phenols, and phthalate esters. Prior to analysis, samples first undergo an extraction process which partitions analytes into an organic solvent compatible with the instrumentation. Example US EPA methods include 525.2, 625, 8270, OLM04.3, and TO-13.
