HPLC

Analysis of a few analyte types is better accomplished using the HPLC technique. These analyte types include carbamate and urea pesticides, glyphosates, diquat and paraquat, carbonyls, polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and explosives. Prior to analysis, samples first undergo an extraction process which partitions analytes into an organic solvent compatible with the instrumentation. Example US EPA methods include 532, 547, 549.2, 554, 610, 632, 632.1, 8310, 8315, 8330, TO-5, and TO-11.

Chemistry Recommendations
  • Carbamate and urea pesticides: C18
  • Glyphosates: SAX1
  • Diquat and paraquat: C18
  • Carbonyls: C18
  • Polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs): LC-PAH, C18
  • Explosives: C18, Cyano
