Ionization Buffers (for Flame AAS)

For the suppression of physical, ionic and chemical interferences Schuhknecht and Schinkel described spectroscopic buffer solutions for use with flame atomic absorption spectroscopy. The solution of Schuhknecht and Schinkel should be used when determining alkali metals, (Analytical Chemistry, 194, 1963, 161). Schinkel's solution (20982) extends the application range to 14 elements (Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, K, Li, Mg, Mn, Na, Ni, Sr, and Zn), and is described in Analytical Chemistry, 317, 1984, 10.
