Astec Products | Technical Resources | Chiral Services Ordering Information: B-DM | G-DM
Astec CHIRALDEX B-DM and G-DM capillary GC columns incorporate a phase consisting of a 2,3-di-O-methyl-6-t-butyl silyl derivative of either β- or γ-cyclodextrin. These phases exhibit broad chiral selectivity, resolving aliphatic, olefenic, and aromatic enantiomers. They combine the selectivities of the PM and PH phases.

Features
- Broad chiral selectivity
- Combine selectivity of the PM and PH phases
- Short retention, high resolution
- B-DM broadly applicable
- Resolve aliphatic, olefenic and aromatic enantiomers
Mechanism Observations
- Size selectivity present but not dominant as in the DA phases
- Fewer structural requirements
- Characteristic temperature selectivity
Size Selectivity
Size selectivity is evident, therefore, the inclusion mechanism is playing a role in the separation mechanism but does not dominate as it does with the DA phases. The B-DM phase covers a very broad range of molecular sizes and, therefore, has the greatest applicability.
