Antiobesity Drugs - The health implications of the near-epidemic obesity problem have made research aimed at treating obesity a hot topic.
Sibutramine, one of a few drugs approved for long-term treatment of obesity, is a chiral compound. Because the (R) and (S) enantiomers have opposing effects, it is a perfect example of the importance of chiral HPLC to pharmaceutical and clinical analysts. |
HPLC Separation of Sibutramine Enantiomers Both Astec CHIROBIOTIC V and V2 successfully separate sibutramine enantiomers, using a simple, MS-friendly mobile phase. The larger α value on the V2 would make it more suitable for preparative applications. |
