Based on Fused-Core™ particle technology, Ascentis Express provides the high speed and high efficiency of sub-2-µm particles, but at half of the backpressure. This lower pressure means that Ascentis Express can be run on all HPLC systems, including conventional as well as UHPLC systems.
News Alert! Dr. Jack Kirkland, developer of Fused-Core particle technology, has received the 2009 CASSS Scientific Achievement Award.

There are five key user benefits with the Ascentis Express HPLC Columns:
1. Hyper-Fast Separations
- Designed for high flow rates and sample throughput, especially LC-MS
- Half of the backpressure of sub-2-µm particles
2. High-Definition Resolution
- Twice the efficiency of 3 µm particles
- Longer columns permit doubling the plates over sub-2-µm particles
- Shortest analyte diffusion path
3. Super-Sensitive
- Sharper peaks provide better Signal:Noise
4. Super-Rugged
- Narrowest particle size distribution
- 2µm porosity frits like most rugged conventional columns
5. A Family of selectivities that rivals the competition
- C18, RP-Amide, Phenyl-Hexyl, C8, HILIC, Peptide ES-C18
- Match competitor selectivitiy and performance at lower pressure

Learn more about the Fused-Core Advantage |
C18 and C8 provide classic reversed-phase selectivity with performance benefits for Fast HPLC and High Resolution HPLC. RP-Amide and Phenyl-Hexyl offer alternate selectivity to reversed-phase separations. HILIC extends the benefits of Fused-Core particle technology to the emerging HILIC mode technique. Peptide ES-C18 is a stable reversed-phase column, optimized for HPLC separations of peptides and similar biomolecules.
