14703 Cronobacter spp. ChromoSelect Agar, modified for microbiology Cronobacter spp. isolation agar Enterobacter sakazakii isolation agar CSIA ESIA HiCrome Enterobacter sakazakii Agar modified meets the formulation recommended by ISO Committee for the isolation and identification of Enterobacter sakazakii from milk and milk products.
90035 DCLS Agar No. 2 for microbiology Desoxycholate Citrate Lactose Sucrose Agar No. 2 D.C.L.S. Agar is used as a selective medium for the isolation of Shigella and Salmonella. Also useful for isolation of Vibrio cholera. The addition of fermentable carbohydrate increases the usefulness of the medium because non-pathogenic sucrose-fermenting organisms may be recognised by their red colonies, e.g. some Proteus, Serratia, Enterobacter species.
85927 ECC ChromoSelect Selective Agar for microbiology E. coli-Coliform Selective Agar ChromoSelect ECC Selective Agar ChromoSelect HiCrome ECC Selective Agar is a selective medium recommended for the simultaneous detection of Escherichia coli and coliforms in water and food samples. The ingredients help even the sublethally injured coliforms to grow rapidly, Tergitol inhibits Gram-positive as well as some Gram-negative bacteria other than coliforms. The chromogenic mixture contains two chromogenic substrates as Salmon-GAL and X-glucuronide. The enzyme β-D-galactosidase produced by coliforms cleaves Salmon-GAL, resulting in the salmon-to-red coloration of coliform colonies. The enzyme β-D-glucuronidase produced by E. coli, cleaves X-glucuronide. E. coli forms dark blue-to-violet colored colonies due to cleavage of both Salmon-GAL and X-glucuronide. The addition of tryptophan improves the indole reaction. To confirm E. coli, add a drop of Kovac′s reagent (Catalog No. 60983) on the dark blue-to-violet colony. Formation of cherry-red color indicates the positive reaction.
E5399 Endo agar for microbiology
70137 ENDO Agar (Base) for microbiology   A selective medium for the differentiation of lactose fermenting and lactose non-fermenting intestinal organisms.
07012 m-FC Agar modified for Klebsiella, Vegitone for microbiology Vegitone m-FC Agar modified for Klebsiella m-Fecal Coliform Agar modified for Klebsiella, Vegitone This M-FC Agar is used for rapid enumeration of Klebsiella using membrane filter technique. It is free of animal derived material.
54232 Lactose TTC Agar with Tergitol-7 for microbiology TTC-Tergitol-7 Agar m-Tergitol-7 Agar with Meat Extract
07348 m-Lauryl sulfate broth for microbiology Membrane lauryl sulfate broth M-Lauryl sulfate broth is used for enumeration of Escherichia coli and coliforms in water, using membrane filter technique, replacing membrane enriched teepol broth. It is recommended by ISO Committee under the specification ISO 9308-1: 1990
62087 Levine EMB Agar for microbiology Eosin methylene Blue Lactose Agar according to Levine Levine’s Eosin Methylene Blue Agar Isolation and differentiation of E. coli and Enterobacter, and identification of Candida albicans according to Levine.
70143 MacConkey Agar No 1 for microbiology   A differential plating medium recommended for the detection and isolation of coliforms and intestinal pathogens from stool, urine, water and other material.
M8302 MacConkey Agar with Crystal violet, Sodium chloride and 0.15% Bile salts for microbiology   A differential media recommended for the selection and recovery of Enterobacteriaceae.
70144 MacConkey Broth for microbiology   A presumptive medium for the detection of the coliform group in water and milk.
16377 MacConkey Broth Purple for microbiology MacConkey Bromocresol purple Broth MacConkey G Broth MacConkey Broth Purple is a differential medium used for the detection of coliforms in water samples and milk examination by MPN technique. It is a modification of the classic medium, where neutral red is replaced by a less aggressive indicator, according European Pharmacopoeia. It is also recommended by ISO Committee under the specification ISO 9308-2:1990.
63014 MacConkey MUG Agar for microbiology   For the isolation of Salmonella, Shigella and coliform bacteria, in particular E. coli, from diverse material.
Bile salts and crystal violet extensively inhibit the Gram-positive flora. The presence of lactose and neutral red indicate lactose-positive colonies from which E. coli can be identified by fluorescence in the UV.
39734 Membrane Lactose Glucuronide Agar for microbiology MLGA m-Lauryl Sulfate Chromogen Agar A chromogenic medium for the differentiation and enumeration of Escherichia coli and other coliforms, which simplifies the membrane filtration technique by reducing the number of filtration stages and the need for further confirmation steps. This medium is described in the Environment Agency′s report of UK, ′Methods for Examination of Waters and Associated Material - The Microbiology of Drinking Water (2002) - Part 4 - Methods for the isolation and enumeration of coliform bacteria and Escherichia coli (including E. coli O157:H7).
