Researchers commonly encounter samples where the best way to purify the sample is to choose a solvent system that leaves the target compound on the origin, running off any interfering impurities. Once the impurities are gone, the symmetric VersaPak cartridge design allows you to flip the cartridge over so that the target compound is now near the cartridge outlet. By changing the solvent system, you can more quickly elute the target compound without having to wait for the compound to move through the entire cartridge bed.
