Loading samples using the sample injector.
Sample loading is critical to efficient sample purification. The VersaFlash system allows you to load samples using a variety of methods. By far the most common way to load samples is by using the sample injector assembly, which is a three-way valve mounted on top of the VersaFlash station at the inlet of the cartridge. To load a sample, simply turn off the pump, allowing the system pressure to dissipate for several seconds. Then attach a syringe with the sample to the injector assembly and turn the valve to “inject.” Some customers like to follow the injection with a small bolus of air or solvent to ensure that the sample is completely loaded on the cartridge and cleared from the valve tubing. Once the sample is loaded, turn the valve to the “operate” position and turn on the pump to begin purification of the sample. The sample injector assembly is mounted on the top of the VersaFlash station and designed for downward flow.
