Culture Medium
DMEM or GMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:4 to 1:10 i.e. seeding at 1-2x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
Cell Line Description
BHK TK- is a derivative of BHK21 (clone 13) rendered TK- by selection in 30μg/ml BUdR. Used widely for research on viruses and on neoplastic transformation especially with polyoma virus.
