Culture Medium
EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 i.e. seeding at 4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin; 5% CO2; 37°C.
Cell Line Description
Derived from the normal skin of a 56 year old Caucasian female. The cells are highly sensitive to human interferon and have been proposed as a standard for its assay.
