Description
General description
Lactoferrin, globular glycoprotein, is a multifunctional transferrin. A primary function of lactoferrin is to bind and transport iron ions. However, lactoferrin is also and effective antibacterial, antiviral, antiparasitic, catalytic (RNA degrading), anti-cancer, anti-allergic and radioprotecting molecule.
Rabbit polyclonal anti-lactoferrin antibody reacts with purified lactoferrin and human milk, but does not react with human serum proteins.

Lyophilized from 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.2
Application
Rabbit polyclonal anti-lactoferrin antibody is used to tag lactoferin for detection and quantitation by immunocytochemical and immunohistochemical (IHC) techniques such as immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence. It is used as a probe to determine the presence and roles of lactoferrin as an iron transport molecule and as a cell protecting agent.
Reconstitution
Reconstitute with 2 ml deionized water.
