Application

Calcium hydroxide may be used for the preparation of nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite by sonochemical technique.Ca(OH)2 may be used as a catayst in the pyrolysis of pinewood in a fixed bed reactor.

General description

This strong base dissociates into calcium and hydroxyl ions in an aqueous solution. Calcium hydroxide is antibacterial and popularly used for endodontic treatment.
