Application

Used in the preparation of stable nanosized and underivatized colloidal gold particles in solution; e.g. in the preparation of citrate-stabilized gold nanoparticles by the reduction of HAuCl4 with NaBH4 in an aqueous citrate solution. Hydrogen tetrachloroaureate(III) trihydrate was used in the preparation of gold nanoparticles.
