Diethylamine was used to compose the basic solution for use in β-amyloid ELISA studies. It was also used in the rubella virus immunoglobulin G (IgG) avidity assay.

General description

Diethylamine is a secondary ethyl derivative of ammonia. It is an ammonia-like smelling liquid. It is an important intermediate formed during the synthesis of resins and various pharmaceutical products.
