Description

Application

Chaotropic agent and strong denaturant; solubilizes cells.

Suitable for
• denaturation of macromolecules such as nucleic acids and proteins
• RNA isolation
• deactivation of RNases

Packaging

100, 500 g in glass bottle

Principle

Guanidine thiocyanate interferes with the hydrogen bonds and intramolecular interactions of macromolecules. It solubilizes the proteins resulting in disintegration of cellular structures.

General description

Guanidine thiocyanate is a strong chaotropic agent that denatures nucleic acids and solubilizes proteins.
