Description

Immunogen

Purified rat IgG

Physical form

Solution in 0.05 M Tris, pH 8.0, containing 1% bovine serum albumin, 1 mM MgCl2, 50% glycerol, and 15 mM sodium azide.

Application

A concentration of 1:10,000 in direct ELISA and 1:5000 in immunoblotting was used to detect salmon thrombin and fibrinogen in the blood of Wistar rats. 1 The antibody may be used for immunohistochemistry at a concentration of 1:50-1:100 determined by indirect assay using formalin fixed paraffin embedded human tonsil sections and rat Monoclonal Anti-Human IgG as primary antibody. 2

Anti-Rat IgG (whole molecule)-Alkaline Phosphatase antibody is suitable for use in ELISA. The product can also be used for immunohistochemistry (at 1:50-1:100 dilutions using formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections) and western blot (1:30,000-1:60,000).

Cell extracts of V. vulnificus strains were analyzed for protein expression by western blot using alkaline phosphatase-conjugated rabbit anti-rat IgG as the secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:1000.

General description

IgGs are glycoprotein antibodies that modulate several immune responses. Rat IgGs have four subclasses, namely, IgG1, IgG2a, IgG2b, and IgG2c3. Rat IgGs against target proteins are often used as primary antibodies in various research applications. Thus, secondary anti-rat IgG is a useful tool for the analysis of target proteins. Anti-Rat IgG (whole molecule)-Alkaline Phosphatase antibody binds to all rat immunoglobulins.

The affinity isolated antibody is obtained from anti-rat IgG antiserum by immunospecific purification, which removes essentially all rabbit serum proteins, including immunoglobulins, which do not specifically bind to rat IgG. Anti-Rat IgG is conjugated to alkaline phosphatase by protein cross linking with 0.2% glutaraldehyde
Identity and purity of the antibody is established by immunoelectrophoresis (IEP) prior to conjugation. Electrophoresis of the product followed by diffusion versus anti-rabbit IgG and anti-rabbit whole serum results in single arcs of precipitation.
