Description

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to the N-terminal region (amino acids 2-20) of human caspase 8 N-terminal prodomain, with C-terminal added lysine, conjugated to KLH.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide

Specificity

The sequence used as the immunogen is identical in human caspase 8 isoforms (MACHα1, MACHα2, MACHβ1, MACHβ3, MACHβ4) and has limited homology (60%) to mouse caspase 8. By immunoblotting, the antibody reacts with caspase 8a and caspase 8b.
