Nonpeptide, potent and selective endothelin converting enzyme inhibitor.
SM-19712 a sulfonylureid-pyrazole derivative is a potent and selective inhibitor of endothelin converting enzyme (ECE).3 It attenuates the effects of ischemic acute renal failure and reduces the inflammation, tissue injury and vasoconstriction induced by dextran sodium sulfate in mouse colon.4,5
SM-19712 hydrate was used in studies to determine the effectiveness of ECE inhibition as a treatment option for Alzheimer′s disease.6
