Application

Anti-Horse IgG (whole molecule)-Peroxidase antibody is suitable for use in enzyme immunoassay.

Applications in which this antibody has been used successfully, and the associated peer-reviewed papers, are given below.
Western Blotting (1 paper)

Platelet lysates were analyzed by western blot using HRP-conjugated rabbit anti-horse IgG as the secondary antibody.

Rabbit polyclonal anti-Horse IgG (whole molecule)−Peroxidase antibody may be used to detect and quantitate the level of IgG in horse serum and biological fluids via chromogenic, chemoluminescent or fluorogenic immunochemical or immunohistochemical techniques. It may also be used as a secondary antibody in assays that use horse IgG as the primary antibody.

General description

Horse IgG is a plasma B cell derived antibody isotype defined by its heavy chain. IgG is the most abundant antibody isotype found in horse serum. IgG crosses the placental barrier, is a complement activator and binds to the Fc-receptors on phagocytic cells. The level of IgG may vary with the status of disease or infection.

Horse IgGs have seven subclasses ranging from IgG1 to IgG7. Equine IgG antibodies mainly regulate mucosal and systemic immunological responses and thereby, provide protection against disease-causing pathogens such as Streptococcus equi, and the horse flu virus. Horse IgG may also function to control the advancement of EHV-1 infection . Anti-Horse IgG (whole molecule)-Peroxidase antibody is specific for horse IgG.

Rabbit polyclonal anti-Horse IgG (whole molecule)−Peroxidase antibody reacts with normal horse serum and horse IgG.
