The FITC is bound through the epsilon amino group of the lysine amino acid residues. Each lot number will have a varying number of FITC molecules bound.

We would not expect there to be free FITC. The final product is dialyzed against distilled water using dialysis tubing with a molecular weight cutoff of 12,000 prior to it being lyophilized.
