rat cytochrome P450 proteins.

Antigen Background

Cytochrome P450 1A2 encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

The antibody recognizes specifically human and rat cytochrome P450 1A2 and does not cross-react with cytochrome P450 1A1 or 1B1.

Monoclonal Anti-Cytochrome P450 1A2 antibody produced in mouse is suitable for:
• immunohistochemistry
• western blotting at a concentration of 0.1-0.2μg/mL using recombinant human cytochrome P450 1A2

Biochem/physiol Actions

Cytochrome P450 enzymes are a super family of heme containing mono-oxygenases that in humans are involved with oxidative metabolism of xenobiotics. This metabolism is the initial step in the biotransformation and elimination of a wide variety of drugs and environmental pollutants from the body.
