Biochem/physiol Actions

Enantioselectively and regioselectively reduces diketones, oxoaldehydes, methyl ketones, oxoesters and cyclohexanediones to their S-configuration hydroxy-derivatives.

Unit Definition

One unit will convert 1 μmole of diacetyl and NADPH to (S)-acetoin and NADP per min at pH 6.9 at 25°C. Enantioselectively and regioselectively reduces diketones, oxoaldehydes, methyl ketones, oxoesters and cyclohexanediones to their S-configuration
