Description

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 406-420 of human EPHX1

General description

The primary nuclear transcript is 20,271 nucleotides in length, extending from the start of transcription to the site of poly(A) addition. The human mEH gene consists of 9 exons, separated by 8 introns.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Application

Anti-EPHX1 antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for western blot analysis at a working dilution of 1:500-1:2000. Yale Center for High Throughput Cell Biology IF-tested antibodies. Each antibody is tested by immunofluorescence against HUVEC cells using the Yale HTCB IF protocol. Biochem/physiol Actions

Epoxide hydrolase is a biotransformation enzyme that converts epoxides from the degradation of aromatic compounds to less reactive and more water soluble trans-dihydrodiols, which can be conjugated and excreted from the body. It is involved in both the activation and detoxification of epoxides. Defects in this gene cause preeclampsia, epoxide hydrolase deficiency or increased epoxide hydrolase activity.
