p3XFLAG-CMV™-13 is an expression vector that can be used as a shuttle vector for Escherichia coli and mammalian cells. It can used for transient or stable expression and extracellular secretion of C-terminal 3XFLAG® fusion proteins in mammalian cells. Transcription of FLAG®-fusion constructs is driven by the promoter-regulatory region of human cytomegalovirus. Stable transfectants can be selected for resistance to neomycin (G418 selection). The vector contains both bacterial and SV40 origins of replication, which results in optimal replication in host cells expressing the SV40 large T antigen, such as COS cells. The use of the 3XFLAG® tag results in increased sensitivity of detection using ANTI-FLAG® M2 antibody detection systems.
