Description

Immunogen

recombinant human E2F1.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 1% BSA and 15 mM sodium azide.

Specificity

The epitope recognized by the antibody resides in the N-terminal region of human E2F1 (amino acids 1-89). May be used for immunoprecipitation (native and denatured), immunoblotting immunocytochemistry, and gel mobility shift assay.

Preparation Note

Purified from culture supernatant of hybridoma cells grown in a bioreactor.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Transcription factor E2F1 is a protein encoded by the E2F1 gene in humans and belongs to E2F family of transcription factors. It is located on chromosome 20q11 and plays a critical role in the transcription of certain genes required for cell cycle progression. E2F1 may facilitate identification of additional E2F family members and detection of E2F1 abnormalities in human tumors. It plays a crutial role in regulating cell cycle and other biological processes in cells. E2F-1 gene expression is higher in rectal cancer tissue compared to normal tissue.
