Application

• HEPES has been used for the adjustment and maintenance of pH of biological solutions.
• It has been added to the culture medium of cells.
• It has been used for homogenization of tissue. It has also been used in the preparation of cytosolic and nuclear extract from cells.

General description

HEPES is a zwitterion buffer. HEPES buffer does not confer cytotoxic effects on cells and thus can be used in animal cell cultures.
