General description

This book describes methods for developing and applying these proteins. The conjugates created contain entire monoclonal antibodies, single chain antibody fragments, and cytokines as carrier ligands. The toxic portion can include conventional chemotherapeutics as doxorubicin, ribosome-inactivating proteins the ricin A-chain or saporin, or bacterial toxins as diphtheria toxin. Applications include treatment of primary malignant brain tumors, generation of selective brain lesions, and targeting of the AIDS virus.
