What is the difference between peptide content and purity of Product No. M4939?
If a given lot of Product No. M4939 has, say, a peptide content of 85% and purity of 99%, this means that 85% of the vial content is the peptide, the remaining being water and trifluoroacetate salts. Of the 85% that is the peptide, 99% is Myelin oligodendroctye glycoprotein peptide fragment (35-55).
For how long is a solution of this peptide (Product No. M4939) stable?
Sigma-Aldrich has not performed any solution stability studies on M4939, so we do not have information as to whether solutions are stable refrigerated or frozen.
What can I use to dissolve this peptide (Product No. M4939)?
Every lot is tested for solubility at a concentration of 1 mg/mL, using either 1% acetic acid or water, resulting in a clear, colorless solution. The peptide is also soluble in an aqueous buffer such as 0.01 M PBS, pH 7.4, but we do not know whether it is equally as soluble in these buffers as it is in dilute acetic acid or water.
Can I combine this peptide (Product No. M4939) with an adjuvant to prepare an immunizing emulsion?
