General description

MAP kinase activating death domain (MADD) is an 183kDa protein expressed in normal cells as well as in malignant tumors of the lung and ovary. It contains 1647 amino acids and the gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 11p11.21-p11.22.

The antibody reacts with human MADD (MAP kinase-Activating Death Domain). The protein is also known as DENN (Differentially Expressed in Normal and Neoplastic cells).

Biochem/physiol Actions

MAP kinase activating death domain (MADD) interacts with the tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) receptor. It plays an important role as a downstream regulator of the apoptosis pathways mediated by TRAIL.
