Description

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to the propeptide region of human matrix metalloproteinase-2 (gelantinase-A).

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4 containing 15 mM sodium azide and 50% glycerol.

Specificity

Reacts with reduced and native MMP-2 free or bound to TIMP-2. Recognizes only the latent form of MMP-2 and not the active forms. May be used to distinguish the zymogen and the activated enzyme.
