Description
Biochem/physiol Actions
Mode of Action: Increases the permeability of the cell membrane of sensitive fungi by binding to sterols.
Antimicrobial spectrum: Yeasts and molds.
Preparation Note
Prepared from Nystatin (N 6261).
Reconstitution
Nystatin is effective as a suspension. Prepare 50 mg/ml stock suspensions in water and store at −20 °C. Stable at 37 °C for 3 days. Use in tissue culture at 50 μg/ml.
