General description

This phenol solution is a clear liquid saturated with citrate buffer. Phenol solutions can be used for a wide variety of molecular biology applications, including nucleic acid extractions using standard phenol-chloroform protocols.

Application

Phenol solution is suitable for use in nucleic acid extraction using standard phenol-choloroform protocols.1 Epidermal strips from the abaxial side of leaves of Commelina communis were stirred in phenol in a procedure to separate the monosaccharides from the epidermis.2
