Antigen Background

CD62L, a glycoprotein and member of the selectin family of adhesion receptors, is constitutively expressed on all classes of leukocytes including lymphocytes, monocytes, and polymorphonuclear cells. It is expressed on myeloid progenitor cells, erythroid precursor cells, and some thymocytes.

Physical form

Solution, 0.2 μm filtered, in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4.

Specificity

Recognizes the CD62L (L-Selectin, LAM-1, Leu8, TQ1, LECAM-1, LECCAM-1, DREG) surface antigen. The antibody recognizes an epitope localized to the lectin domain. It inhibits "rolling" interactions and significantly reduces the binding of FITC-yeast phosphomannan monoester core polysaccharide to lymphocytes, monocytes and neutrophils.
