recombinant human TNF soluble receptor II (TNF sRII) expressed in Escherichia coli. The immunogen is the non-glycosylated, N-terminal methionyl form of the naturally-occurring human soluble type II receptor for TNF, minus 53 amino acids from the proline-rich region just exterior to the transmembrane domain.

General description

The tumor necrosis factor super family (TNFSF) consists of at least 19 type II transmembrane proteins with soluble forms that are generated by proteolysis. The biological effects of TNF are mediated by either type I or type II receptors. Unlike type I receptors that are ubiquitously present on all cells, type II receptors are expressed only on cells of immune system and endothelial cells. Receptors of TNFSF such as TNFR1 and Fas have their own death domains that activate the apoptosis. Other receptors such as TNFR2 do not have death domains and utilize TNF associated factors (TRAFs) to activate intracellular signaling. The pathways activated include NF-κB, JNK and MAPK
Anti-Tumor Necrosis Factor Soluble Receptor II specifically detects human TNF sRII and shows no cross-reactivity with recombinant human TNF sRI.

Physical form

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline and 5% trehalose.


The antibody detects human TNF sRII and shows no cross-reactivity with recombinant human TNF sRI.

Anti-Tumor Necrosis Factor Soluble Receptor Type II antibody may be used in immunocytochemistry at a working concentration of 5-15 μg/ml using human peripheral blood lymphocytes. The antibody is suitable for immunoblotting at a working concentration of 1 μg/ml.
