Mixture of tylosin A, B, C, and D tartrates.

Application

Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic commonly used in veterinary medicine. It is used to study protein synthesis at the level of the 50S ribosome, implant site abscess prevention in cattle, disposition kinetics¹ and Mycoplasma gallisepticum and Mycoplasma meleagridis infections².

Biochem/physiol Actions

Tylosin tartrate inhibits bacterial protein synthesis at the level of 50S ribosome (L27 protein) binding.
